Clinical interests:
My primary area of interest is Drug Information. My practice is based at the SIUE Drug Information and Wellness Center. The practice includes research, retrieval, and analysis of literature to assist other health care professionals with drug information needs. I strive to provide accurate, unbiased, and timely information to help other pharmacists directly impact patient care. Other areas of interest include the promotion of health and wellness, including osteoporosis awareness, smoking cessation, nutrition, and cardiovascular health. I believe that the Drug Information Center is an ideal place for training students and residents to become competent providers of drug information, making them better pharmacists.
Practice site information:
The SIUE Drug Information and Wellness Center (DIWC) is a unit of the Department of Pharmacy Practice in the School of Pharmacy. The Center is located on the within the School of Pharmacy on the Edwardsville campus, and consists of approximately 780 square feet of space dedicated to the teaching and service programs of the drug information and wellness program. The staff at the drug information center responds to requests for drug information only from SIUE faculty, preceptors, and through contractual agreements.
The Drug Information & Wellness Center is also committed to promoting health education to benefit the community. The faculty in the DIWC is dedicated to teaching students in the School of Pharmacy and conducting research to promote progress in the areas of drug information and pharmacy practice.

Scholarly interests:
Research and scholarly interests include evaluation of drug information resources, drug interactions, dietary supplement safety and interactions, and the impact of pharmacy services on health and wellness, especially in the area of osteoporosis. Other scholarly interests include evaluation of classroom instruction.
Other:
Teaching responsibilities primarily include Statistics & Literature Evaluation, Drug Information, and a few topics in the Self Care & Alternative Medicines and Physical Assessment courses. Organizational membership includes ACCP (Drug Information PRN), ASHP, and ICHP (Division of Educational Affairs). Current editorial service includes peer reviewer for Annals of Pharmacotherapy and Hospital Pharmacy, and Assistant Editor for KeePosted (ICHP News Journal). Service to the SOP includes Chair of the Curriculum committee, faculty advisor for Rho Chi, and co-advisor for the Student Society of Health-System Pharmacy.
