Vehicles illegally parked in spaces for persons with disabilities or in fire (red curbs) or emergency (yellow curbs) lanes, as well as those blocking aisles or creating hazardous traffic situations will be ticketed and towed. In all cases, the driver or owner is liable for payment for towing and storage.
Unless the University Police are notified by the owner, any vehicle in a non-residential area parking lot or at a meter shall be considered abandoned after 24 hours and subject to tow without warning.
Vehicles that are derelict (i.e., not road worthy due to either the condition of the vehicle or failure to have current and proper registration as determined by University Police) will be subject to tow from any lot without warning, as will those with concealed vehicle identification numbers.
Students, employees and other individuals with significant numbers of tickets (typically those owing $100 or more) are eligible for towing. As new tickets are written on the vehicles in question, the message on the handheld computers informs the parking service agents to call the towing company.
