System Upgrade
Parking Services is finalizing the transition to new software which will offer additional customer conveniences. Beginning early during FY 08-09, it will be possible for employees to purchase parking permits online through payroll deduction. Also, an online appeals process will be offered early in the fiscal year.
Motorcycle Parking
In response to concerns about potential damage to motorcycles, Parking Services has implemented a new system where only one motorcycle may be parked in a space. Also, motorcyclists will be able to use the same permits they have for their cars and trucks on the motorcycles themselves. Parking Lot Maintenance
All parking areas have been sealed and striped recently to keep them in good condition.
Lot 11 Expansion
Planning has begun to expand Lot 11 (parking lot adjacent to the RecPlex) and Lot A2 on the Alton campus. Work on Lot 11 will begin during the spring or summer of 2009, while the A2 expansion might be completed as soon as September 1, 2008.
Permit Deadline
The deadline for having a current parking permit in the red, yellow or brown lot is September 1. The deadline for all other lots is August 25.
