How does a department provide complimentary parking for UNPLANNED visits from a guest?
Unfortunately, to provide complimentary parking, visits will have to be planned. If you receive an unscheduled guest, you may provide him or her with a guest pass. However, the guest must return to the parking lot immediately and place the guest pass on his or her dashboard to prevent ticketing, as is the practice in all the other lots on campus.
May departments still "purchase" the lot?
Yes. Contact Parking Services, 650-3680 for additional information and cost.
How do I enter and exit the lot?
The entrance point will remain in the same location. There will now be three entrance lanes and two of those lanes will offer the use of the Pay and Display units from the driver’s side window. The third entrance lane will be used primarily by those who already have permits or by those who prefer to park and purchase parking permits inside the lot. There will be one exit lane. During special events, the third entrance may be utilized as an exit as deemed appropriate by Parking Services.
What type of signage will be used so visitors can (1) locate the Pay and Display units in Lot B and (2) understand how to use them?
There will be the traditional parking signs at the entrance which describe the nature of the lot and the operating hours. Once inside, there will be signs informing you as to which lane to use and how to operate the Pay and Display units in the driving lanes. There will also be signs inside the lot reminding motorists to purchase parking permits if they haven’t already. Signs explaining the operation of the machines will appear on each Pay and Display unit inside the lot.
