Appeals may be submitted to Parking Services in person, by mail or online. If an individual chooses the mail option, he or she must enclose a check to cover the partial payment of the citation and must allow enough mailing time to stay within the fourteen (14) calendar day limit. Appeals may also be submitted to the Service Center at times when Parking Services is closed.
The Parking Services office first considers the appeal. If the appeal is denied, it may be further appealed to the Parking and Traffic Appeals Committee. The individual is invited to attend the Appeals Committee hearing; attendance is not mandatory, however. Parking Services notifies the appellant of the date of the hearing and the status of the appeal after each step. The decision of the Appeals Committee is binding.
An appeal may not be filed without a $5.00 partial payment. If the appeal is granted, a credit is applied to accounts receivable. The appeal must be written and payment made within fourteen (14) calendar days immediately following the date of the ticket.
Citations or summons directing the alleged violator to State court must be appealed in accordance with State law.
