Show Me, I
Remember.

Involve Me, I Understand.
The Physics Astronomy Chemistry and Biology Education Research (PACBER) Group at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is a diverse set of faculty and students researching issues in science education. Members of PACBER are currently pursuing research on problem-solving in physics and astronomy, conceptual difficulties in astronomy, inclusiveness issues in science, how scientific instruments impact laboratory learning, impact of laboratory learning on achievement measures, the effect of simulated versus reality experiences on student learning, developing topic maps for chemistry, investigating pattern language to improve chemistry instruction, implementing and developing novel and inquiry-based curriculum, and developing reliable and valid assessments. The PACBER Group is also interested in dissemination of research results in formats as diverse as workshops, web sites, conference presentations, journal publications and more.
