SIUE ENDOWED SCHOLAR-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM

A high quality graduate program must attract faculty and students with leadership potential and provide them with opportunities to learn from and interact with the world's leading scientists, authors, analysts and thinkers.

Through the establishment of a Distinguished Scholar-in-Residence Program, the Graduate School will bring exceptional scholars who have truly transformed our understanding of the world to the SIUE campus for several weeks each year. The Scholar-in-Residence will teach courses for SIUE students, conduct colloquia for faculty, make public presentations and interact with the University community, creating an enriching and rewarding learning experience. A permanent endowment will generate the funds to cover the salary, housing, transportation and travel costs for the designated scholar.

This program will bring internationally-recognized scholars- such as Nobel Laureates and Pulitzer Prize winners- to the SIUE campus. Students, faculty and the community will gain access to some of the world's greatest thinkers.
