The FCOI Committee shall operate under the " UNIVERSITY POLICY ON FINANCIAL CONFLICT OF INTEREST PERTAINING TO PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE AND THE NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH SPONSORED PROJECTS " as managed by the Graduate School.
The FCOI Committee shall review all investigator and sub-recipient investigator significant financial interest (SFI) disclosures to determine if a significant FCOI exists and develop and implement management plans as needed to manage FCOIs. This shall be done within 60 days of receipt of the FCOI disclosure form in the Graduate School or within 60 days of identification of an SFI that was either not previously disclosed or not previously reviewed.
The Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) Committee shall consist of one faculty member from each of the following units:
Committee members are nominated by their respective deans. These nominees must be approved by the Associate Provost for Research and Graduate Dean. Approved members will serve 3-year terms. Terms will be staggered. Faculty serving on the FCOI Committee must be tenured or tenure-track. The Associate Dean for Research will serve as an ex-officio, non-voting member, and a representative from the General Counsel's office will serve as an ex-officio, voting member.
The Committee will have a Chair. The Chair will be appointed by the Associate Provost for Research and Graduate Dean to a 2-year term.
