Professional Background

How long have you been doing what you do?

I came to SIUE as an Academic Advisor in October 2018.

How long have you been at SIUE?

This position is my first at SIUE!

How did you get here?

I began my professional Higher Education career at Washington University in St. Louis and after taking some time off from Higher Ed, I came back and landed at SIUE.

What are you most passionate about professionally?

I am most passionate about helping students, especially students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds.  College can be difficult for many students and I find my job the most rewarding when I can help serve students who need just a little bit of extra help.

What do you love most about working at SIUE?

The students. SIUE students seem driven and passionate about pursing their goals and I love being here to help them along that journey.

What are your primary duties in your current position?

My main responsibilities are to advise our students on what classes they should be taking, what path will help them graduate on time and helping them shape their degree in a way that will help them beyond their undergraduate years.

Personal Information

Where can we find you when you’re not working?

I'm a pretty competitive person, so I love to play all kinds of games.  Video games, board games, and sports. Usually you'll find me hanging out with friends playing some kind of game!

Where did you grow up?
 St. Louis, MO

Any volunteer activities you’re crazy about? Any non-profits you love?
Although I don't get to do it as much as I'd like, I love to join my fraternity in our community service efforts.  One of my favorite programs is called "Go to High School, Go to College" and I absolutely love teaching the youth about the importance of a solid education.

Awards and Accolades

I have received an "Advisor of the Month" award for my work with the North Side Assocation at WashU and, as an Undergrad at UNCW, I was awarded "Fraternity Man of the Year" which I'm still really proud of.
