Undergraduate

The Accelerated Option is an intensive four semester, 15-month Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing designed specifically for students who already have a bachelor’s degree in another area of study.

Admission Requirements

All applicants must provide evidence of a previous baccalaureate degree. Students also are required to complete a number of prerequisite courses prior to enrollment. These courses may be in progress when the student applies for admission.

Prerequisite Courses

  • Anatomy & Physiology 1
  • Anatomy & Physiology 2
  • Microbiology or Bacteriology
  • Chemistry (Inorganic, Organic, & Biochemistry)
  • Statistics
  • Intro to Psychology
  • English Composition
  • Human Growth & Development (Life Span)
  • Ethics

Additional Admission Requirements:

  • Science courses should be completed with labs and within a 7-year limit
  • Minimum grade of “C” in all prerequisite courses (must be completed prior to admission)
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale (includes all college level coursework)
  • Letters of reference (2)
  • Admission to University
  • Application to School of Nursing Accelerated Baccalaureate Option (The application deadline for the ABS program has now past.  Applications are no longer being accepted for Fall 2009 admission.  Fall 2010 applications will be available starting October 1, 2009.)
