Human Development Across the Life Span: (May 27 – August 8, 2008)
Study of human growth and development and variations from conception to old age. Includes development of physiological, psychological, sociocultural, moral, ethical, and spiritual systems. 3 credit hrs.
Pathophysiology (May 27 – August 8, 2008)
Applies major concepts from sciences and humanities to explain health alteration in individuals of all ages. Organized according to Gordon’s functional health pattern categories. 4 credit hrs.
Pharmacology and Nutrition with Lab (May 27 – August 8, 2008)
Principles of pharmacology and nutrition. Emphasizes nursing responsibilities related to pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, and nutrition for health promotion. 5 credit hrs.
Basic EKG Assessments & Interpretations (May 12 – May 16, 2008)
Course intended for individuals with no or minimal exposure to interpreting cardiac rhythms or for those who want a refresher course. Review of normal cardiac anatomy and physiology and the devices used to identify and monitor cardiac rhythms. Focus will then shift to abnormal cardiac rhythm identification. Causes, presenting symptoms, clinical significance, and treatments will be discussed with each dysrhythmia covered. 2 credit hrs.
