Accreditation
The School of Nursing is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)

The Epsilon Eta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International was chartered in 1980 at SIUE. It is open to nursing students who meet established academic and professional criteria both at graduate and undergraduate levels and to community nursing leaders. The society is concerned with the advancement of professional nursing through scholarship, research and practices.
Undergraduate students must have a GPA of 3.0 and shall have completed Semester 6. Undergraduates must be in the top 35 % of their class. Graduate students must have a GPA of 3.5 and completed a minimum of one quarter of the required graduate curriculum. Nurse anesthesia students need to complete 30 hours of coursework. A nurse leader must have a minimum of a baccalaureate degree or the equivalent in any field, and have demonstrated achievement in nursing. Undergraduates and graduate students who meet the criteria are mailed letters of invitation by the Eligibility chairperson of Sigma Theta Tau International in January each year.
Induction Ceremony for New Sigma Theta Tau Officers and New Students
Installation of new officers and induction of new students will occur at the Induction Ceremony on Sunday afternoon, April 13, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. on Campus at the Morris University Center in the Maple-Dogwood RoomThe results of the recent voting for open officer positions for the Epsilon Eta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau are listed below.

Next Sigma Theta Tau Epsilon Eta Chapter Meeting
The next planned Chapter meeting will be held in May. The purpose of this meeting will be to educate the new officers on the duties of their respective offices and to transfer responsibility for those offices. Please check back soon for more information.
