On behalf of the administrators, faculty, staff and students that make up the SIUE School of Nursing, I want to invite you to celebrate SIUE excellence in Nursing at the 50th Anniversary of the School's relationship with the Edwardsville campus. In 1963, the School of Nursing moved from SIU Carbondale to East St. Louis to be a part of Edwardsville's program. Since then, over 9,000 nurses have graduated from SIUE.
The deans, department chairs, faculty and staff moved this School forward. We have doubled enrollment and faculty, scholarly activities increased, and more faculty sought and completed doctoral education. In addition, our clinical partners compete for our students and graduates, and our alumni provide support, connections and commitment to our School, faculty and students. We are very proud of our School and the partnerships we have established.
We hope that you will join us on October 5, 2013, for the School of Nursing Gala, the official recognition and celebration of our 50 years as a School of Nursing at SIUE. Visit the website for more information.
In this edition of our annual spring newsletter, you will find numerous examples of the exciting and entrepreneurial work of our nursing innovators. We are happy to share their stories and continue to thrive as a School that prepares nursing leaders for the 21st century.
