SIUE Congress Forwards Action Items to Chancellor

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Interim Chancellor Stephen Hansen addressed the final session of three meetings of the SIUE congress Friday morning, Jan. 29, in the Morris University Center Meridian Ballroom.

SIUE Spring Enrollment Hits All-Time High

SIUEClass2019Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s spring enrollment of 13,346 students is the largest spring enrollment in the University’s history. Traditional undergraduate enrollment is up 281 students or 2.6 percent over last spring. The University has never enrolled more full-time students (10,214) for a spring semester.

SIUE Alum Named Chairman of Statewide Advocacy Group for Hospitals

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville alum Edgar Curtis will become chairman of the Illinois Health and Hospital Association’s board of trustees, beginning in 2017. Curtis earned a bachelor’s in nursing from SIUE in 1975 and is now CEO of Memorial Health System.

U.S. News Ranks SIUE School of Nursing Online Programs Among Elite

SIUE’s Hospice Volunteer Initiative Celebrates and Comforts

The Hospice Volunteer Initiative, a student organization at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, is demonstrating heartwarming volunteerism by helping hospice providers celebrate and comfort clients. The group began in 2013 as a class project, but has expanded into a campuswide organization. Now its mission is spreading to other college campuses.
