Southern Illinois University Edwardsville invites nominations and applications for the Dean of the School of Nursing. The school is located on the SIUE campus in Edwardsville, IL and has a reputation of graduating excellent nurses.
Undergraduate programs include the traditional bachelor of science in nursing (BS) program offered at the SIUE campus and through the SIUE Regional Nursing Program at SIU Carbondale, the post-baccalaureate accelerated bachelor of science degree in nursing (ABS) option, and the RN to Baccalaureate degree option. Master's degrees and post-master's certificates are awarded in four specialty areas: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Health Care Nursing Administration (HCNA), Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesia (CRNA) and Nurse Educator (NE). A Post-Master's Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) is in its third year. The total enrollment in all programs is approximately 1,060 students.
The Dean is the chief administrative and fiscal officer of the School of Nursing. Candidates must have a doctorate in nursing or related field with eligibility for appointment as a tenured professor in the School of Nursing, a masters in nursing, an Illinois and Missouri license or eligibility for such licenses, significant administrative, organizational or governance experience at a baccalaureate/masters/doctoral school of nursing. The candidate must show evidence of leadership, service, teaching, scholarship, and grant authorship, as well as accreditation and program assessment experience. Candidates must have demonstrated commitment to diversity and excellence in student learning, and strong communication skills. Experience with fundraising is expected.
The School of Nursing embraces the educational philosophy of the University, which is dedicated to communicating, expanding and integrating knowledge. The Dean will report to the University Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
