| The School of Nursing offers a bachelor's degree with a major in nursing for non-nurses with or without a previous college degree, and for registered nurses with associate degrees or diplomas in nursing. The program prepares a generalist in professional nursing, and graduates are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN examination for licensure as a registered nurse. The state-approved program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, and provides a foundation for graduate education. The three baccalaureate program options, traditional, accelerated and RN-to-BS, are guided by the same student outcomes, but reflect the learning needs of students with varying academic backgrounds. - Accelerated Option (Bachelor of Science)
The Accelerated BS Option is an intensive four-semester, sixty-seven semester hour, 15 month Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program designed specifically for students who already have a bachelor's degree in another area of study. FAQ  - RN to BS Option (Bachelor of Science) Online

Non-Degree Seeking Programs for Undergraduate Students - School Nurse
This internship program provides a basic foundation in the school nurse field. This internship is offered during the spring semester, starting in January and ending in May. |

| The Graduate Program in Nursing prepares nurses for advanced practice and healthcare systems management in four areas: Health Care and Nursing Administration, Nurse Anesthesia, Nurse Educator, and Family Nurse Practitioner. Each Student's program is designed to meet the general requirements of the Graduate School and the requirements of the School of Nursing. Part-time progressions are available in all specializations except Nurse Anesthesia which is a full-time option. Graduates are eligible for certification examinations and for appointment to advanced practice nursing licensure and practice. - Family Nurse Practitioner
The Master’s Degree in Nursing with a specialization as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) prepares students to deliver comprehensive primary care to individuals from infancy throughout adulthood. - Health Care and Nursing Administration
The Master’s Program for the Health Care and Nursing Administration (HCNA) specialization prepares nurses with a bachelor’s degree in nursing for an active and participatory role in Health Care Administration in its many and varied forms. - Nurse Anesthesia
The design of the Nurse Anesthesia specialization provides the Registered Professional Nurse (RN) who has completed a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) to prepare for entry into advanced practice nursing within the anesthesia specialization. FAQ  - Nurse Educator

- Nursing Education Professional Development Sequence
This 11 credit hour program will provide a foundation in nursing education theory and skills for those employed as nurse educators in schools of nursing, hospitals, community agencies, and other organizations where nurses are employed in educator roles. Three of the courses (NURS 581, 582, and 584) may also satisfy a portion of the requirements for the Post-Master's Certificate in Nurse Educator - Nursing Management Professional Development Sequence
This 12 credit hour program will provide a foundation in management skills for nurses who function as nurse managers in acute care, primary care, long-term care and community agencies or for nurses interested in pursuing a career in nursing management. Two of the courses (NURS 591 and 592) may also satisfy a portion of the requirements for the Master's Degree in health Care and Nursing Administration. - Oncology Nursing Professional Development Sequence
This 12 Credit hour program will provide a foundation of knowledge specific to Oncology Nursing for those either employed or seeking employment in the care of Cancer patients. These courses provide the theory basis for completion of the national certification examination in Oncology Nursing. The Oncology Nursing Society Certification examination also requires supervised practice in an Oncology setting, which is not included in this group of courses. - Pain Management Nursing Professional Development Sequence
This 12 credit hour program provides a foundation in pain management knowledge for nurses employed in any practice setting, with special focus on pain management clinical areas. Completion of these courses prepares the student with the theoretical basis needed for completion of national certification in pain management. The supervised clinical practice requirement for certification is not included in this group of courses. |
