The Master’s Program for the Health Care and Nursing Administration (HCNA) Specialization prepares nurses with a bachelor’s degree in nursing for an active and participatory role in Health Care Administration in its many and varied forms. This can include positions within health care facilities or independent agencies.The master’s degree in nursing with a specialization in health care and nursing administration prepares one for entry into a middle management position in health care organizations. This specialization also meets one of the requirements for certification as a nurse administrator, advanced (CNAA, BC) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Applicants for certification must also meet other criteria as noted in the ANCC website.The HCNA specialization courses are 85% online.
