Responsibility Summary
- Reports to the Associate Dean of the School of Nursing
- Assist Associate Dean and appointed faculty from the School of Nursing (SON) prepare for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) site visit November 2008. Responsibilities pertain to on-going preparation through collection and storage of materials used to validate accreditation credentials. Duties include collecting materials, uploading document files to Blackboard shell and/or SON server, and housing all non-electronic materials used to represent compliance by the School of Nursing and the University.
- Content Manger for the SON Web Pages. Responsibilities include maintaining the web site with current and up-to-date information, conduct monthly requests and update web content information from faculty and staff, to review pages for accuracy and functionality through feedback from faculty and staff members and through the Functionality Accessibility Evaluator (FAE) and Linkbot programs which identifies accessibility and functionality of the web site.
- Collecting standardized test summaries from HESI (an online testing site), Banner, WebNow, and SIS (pre Fall 2007), which are used to review student progression, determine clinical placement by the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs, for complicance for accreditation, and for correspondence by the School of Nursing.
- Assist Director of Clinical Acquisitions: Completes general secretarial and clerical duties for Director, including processing travel reimbursement. Projects include scanning information for use in Med Harbor, a software program used to maintain agency contracts and for scheduling clinical contacts for undergraduate and graduate nursing students.
- Recording Secretary for CCNE Task Force Committee, duties include transcribing minutes, distribution of materials to faculty and staff for CCNE accreditation and other general secretarial and clerical duties.
- Recording Secretary for SON Nursing Program Quality Improvement Committee (NPQIC). Duties include transcribing and distributing minutes for meetings, and to serve as recording secretary on all NPQIC task force and ad hoc committees.
- Maintain Faculty Listserve. Duties include adding and removing faculty and staff e-mail addresses as faculty and staff join or leave the SON. Provide feedback to faculty and staff on returned messages and to resolve issues as needed pertaining to the Listserve.
- Notary Public for the SON and State of Illinois. Duties include notarizing official documents for administration, staff, SON students, the University community, and citizens of the State of Illinois.
- Stand-in for Office Administrator for the Associate Dean for Academic Programs and the SON Receptionist during lunch breaks, vacation, and unexpected absences. Office Administrator duties include forwarding Associate Dean's mail, student inquiries and NCLEX-RN requests. General secretarial and receptionist duties include answering and routing incoming calls, greeting visitors, and directing student appointments to appropriate staff (advisor/administrator).
