Position Summary

  • Assistant to the Community Nursing Services Director

Responsibility Summary

  • Reports to the Community Nursing Services Director at the East St. Louis Higher Education Campus
  • Billing
  • Performs regular billing to third party payers, contractees and individuals, and completes follow up on accounts to assure bills are paid in a timely fashion
  • Collects and logs payment at time of service and through the mail
  • Post payments and adjustments to computer
  • Completes daily and monthly logs in accurate and timely manner
  • Completes charge tickets to include pricing, discounts
  • Assures accuracy of diagnosis coding on charge tickets
  • Initiates charge tickets for all patients
  • Reception
  • Answers phones and facilitates communication with center staff
  • Schedules patient appointments, performs reminder calls for appointments, and follow up on missed appointments per procedure
  • Inputs and maintains patient demographics and related data into system
  • Greets patients and visitors to clinic
  • Initiates client registration process
  • Checks patients out and makes follow-up appointments as directed
  • Maintains and straightens reception area twice dialy
  • Medical Records
  • Maintains orderly system of records, including review processing and filing
  • Manages flow of files chart as needed
  • Assembles new charts as needed
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Typing Correspondence and other information as directed
  • Query patient information system for information as directed
  • Orders and processes payments for supplies and services as needed
  • Sets up open order purchases as needed
  • Prepares reports as directed
