Bernaix Named SIUE School of Nursing Dean

Dr. Laura Bernaix has been recommended as the new dean of the SIUE School of Nursing. Bernaix has served as interim dean since June 2014, and her permanent appointment is contingent upon SIU Board of Trustees approval.

Gala Celebration a Success

Nearly 300 alumni, faculty, staff, students, partners and friends gathered at the School of Nursing’s 2016 alumni reunion and campaign recognition gala. The event took place April 16 in the Living World at the Saint Louis Zoo, and included a cocktail reception, dinner, and a special celebration of the remarkable past, present and future of the School.

New Online Master's in Healthcare Informatics

Because the demand for healthcare professionals to be adept in information technology is increasing in scope and complexity, SIUE is offering its established Master of Science in healthcare informatics online and is currently accepting applications for the program beginning August 2016.

The program benefits from an interdisciplinary approach with courses delivered by several SIUE Schools including: Business; Engineering; Nursing; and Education, Health and Human Behavior.

School of Nursing Partners with Baptist Health

Thanks to a new partnership with the School of Nursing, Baptist Health Paducah nurses can obtain a bachelor's degree in nursing in as little as one year from the comfort of their own homes and on a schedule that fits their lives. The joint venture was announced February at a press conference at Baptist Health in Paducah.

SIUE and Lake Land College Partner on Nursing Degree Track

The School of Nursing (SON) and Lake Land College have announced a new partnership. The Bachelor of Science in nursing degree track enables community college students to rapidly achieve their baccalaureate degree from the SON. Students must have previously attended Lake Land College to complete an associate degree and the majority of the general education requirements.
