Financial Matters Event

Financial Matters Event
Wednesday, November 14th
2:00 to 3:00 in the MUC - Mississippi/Illinois Room

The SIUE Career Development Center routinely receive questions about general financial topics from students who are nearing graduation. As a result, they have arranged a group of experts to come to campus to answer questions you may have, and they will also give you information that would be helpful for you to know. You can simply walk around the room to different tables and talk to only the subject matter experts you wish. They are not there selling products or services. They are there for educational purposes only.

Think about this: as you are securing your job upon graduation, do you know the questions you should be asking about company benefits? Do you know how to negotiate salary? Do you know how to read your credit report? Do you know how to create and follow a budget? Do you know what it takes to get a car loan or mortgage? Do you know about filing your taxes? If you are like most of the population, then you may have a few, or several, questions pertaining to financial matters.

Below is a list of topics and the company experts on each subject.  We hope to see all of you in attendance, as the topics are all pertinent to those thinking about graduation and recent graduates.

Please call the Career Development Center to RSVP at 650-3708, and bring your Cougar Card to the event for check-in.

WORK BENEFITS: What to ask an employer about health and retirement benefits - hosted by Walmart
SALARY NEGOTIATIONS - hosted by US Steel
