Graduating next semester?

Here are a few important deadlines you need to follow before graduation:

  • If you are completing a thesis (not a final project), the Registration of Title form is due to the registrar the first day of the semester in which you want to graduate.  If you will be doing research with human subjects, you must complete human subjects training and submit an IRB Protocol.
  • Every student must apply for graduation, regardless of whether you wish to participate in commencement.  Graduate applications must be submitted by the first day of the semester in which you want to graduate.
  • Commencement ceremonies are held at the end of fall and spring.  For more information please refer to the Commencement website.

Thesis Workshop

All graduate students completing a thesis (your advisor or Graduate Program Director can help you determine if you are completing a thesis) must submit their document to the Graduate School for formatting.  Students must follow the guidelines provided in order to meet the requirements for graduation.  You are encouraged to use the thesis template when you begin writing your proposal and then follow that format for your thesis in order to minimize edits required by the Graduate School and potential delay in graduation.

If you are submitting a thesis for fall 2017, please follow the deadlines and understand that through the process, you will have multiple revisions and prompt responses are required.  Daleana Wylde (dwylde@siue.edu) and Christina McGuiggan (cmcguig@siue.edu) are available by phone, email, or appointment to assist you along the way.  618-650-3010
