Dean's Town Hall Meeting

Please join us for a Town Hall Meeting with Dean Jerry Weinberg, Associate Provost for Research and Dean of the Graduate School.  This will be an opportunity for you to learn about the Graduate School and ask any questions you have for your Dean.

The Town Hall will be held on Wednesday, September 20 at 5:00 in the Mississippi/Illinois Room in the Morris University Center.  We know you have other obligations and understand if you drop in late or have to leave early.  We look forward to seeing you on the 20th!

Travel Grants

The Graduate Student Travel Support Program provides funding (up to $600) to support travel for major paper presentations, as well as for certain eligible exhibits and performance by classified graduate students and professional degree programs in Pharmacy and Dental Medicine.  Reimbursement cannot be provided for expenditures made prior to approval, so be sure to complete the application early.  For more information, visit the website or contact Daleana Wylde dwylde@siue.edu.

The Library

As a current student, you have access to all library resources.   They publish pages called SIUE Research Guides, or LibGuides.  We suggest you read the LibGuides on utilizing library resources such as Library Research Strategies, Mobile Friendly Databases, Basic Library Resources, Your Personal Librarian, and Top 10 Library Resources You Should Know About.  There are many discipline specific topics that we also encourage you to review.  Visit their webiste for more information.  http://www.siue.edu/lovejoylibrary/.

Thesis Guidelines

All graduate students completing a thesis (your advisor or Graduate Program Director can help you determine if you are completing a thesis) must submit their document to the Graduate School for formatting.  Students must follow the guidelines provided in order to meet the requirements for graduation.  You are encouraged to use the thesis template when you begin writing your proposal and then follow that format for your thesis in order to minimize edits required by the Graduate School and potential delay in graduation.  Daleana Wylde (dwylde@siue.edu) and Christina McGuiggan (cmcguig@siue.edu)  are available by phone, email, or appointment to assist you along the way.  618-650-3010.
