SIUE Appoints Hampton and Holan as New Directors

SIUE has named Rich Hampton as director of financial affairs and Craig Holan as director of facilities management. Hampton assumes the duties of Dave Heth, who is retiring from SIUE after 24 years of service. Holan takes over the responsibilities of Paul Fuligni, who left the University in June.

Hampton has more than 27 years of financial service experience in the public sector, 16 of those years at SIUE where he balanced a variety of management, accounting and investment functions for the SIUE Foundation and the University Related Organizations.

Hampton has been the comptroller in the Madison County Auditor’s Office, the chief deputy treasurer and investment officer in the Madison County Treasurer’s Office, and has served as the treasurer for the City of Edwardsville since 2001.

Holan has held several positions in the United States Army Reserves during his 34-year career in the Army National Guard. He was associate vice president at Hanson Professional Services and a partner at Crawford Bunte Brammeier in St. Louis, and a design/construction manager and construction/facility management officer for the Department of Military Affairs in the Illinois Army National Guard.

Hampton assumes his new responsibilities today. Holan will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

Thanksgiving Food Drive for SIUE Students, Donate by Nov. 10

SIUE prides itself on giving, but how does it feel to know that some of our own students are struggling with food insecurity?

Your department has the opportunity to help our students.

The Sociology Club and Student Organization for Sustainability are working on SIUE's first Thanksgiving drive for students, which will result in a campus pantry for students in need.

As the holidays approach and classes end, hunger does not take a vacation for many SIUE students and their families.

The Thanksgiving Food Drive is seeking to provide those in need with a bag of groceries to help make a Thanksgiving meal.

Please consider donating one or more of the below food items:

Instant mashed potatoes
Rice
Canned green beans
Canned corn
Canned spinach
Canned greens
Cranberry sauce
Gravy (packet or jar)
Stuffing boxes
Canned meats
Monetary donation for fresh produce

Donation sites will be determined. In the meantime, please contact Jalela Mitchell at jalmitc@siue.edu or Dr. Connie Frey Spurlock in Peck Hall, room 1213 or cfrey@siue.edu

All food donations are needed by Friday, Nov. 10.
