Also, consider donating to the Carol Kimmel Scholarship fund. The Carol Kimmel Scholarship is awarded annually and provides one year of tuition to an SIUE student based on their leadership and service to the campus and local community. Donations can be made in two ways:

Chancellor Pembrook, Provost Cobb and the Office of International Affairs invite you to attend SIUE’s International Student Graduation Celebration.

The International Student Graduation Celebration is a pre-commencement celebration to honor international students who have successfully completed an undergraduate or graduate degree from SIUE (May 2017, August 2017, December 2017) and to share the event with their families who may not be able to attend graduation.

Families will be able to watch the program via live streaming (siue.edu/tv). Light refreshments will be served.

Alan Ox Highlights SIUE Lovejoy Library “Night in the Stacks” Fundraiser, May 13

St. Louis entertainer Alan Ox is the featured artist for Lovejoy Library’s “Night in the Stacks” annual fundraiser:

Ox will be performing songs of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Nat King Cole in classic crooner style. The 1818 Chop House will provide dinner with a cash bar. A silent auction will include items from performers of the Mississippi River Festival and will be available on Lovejoy’s first floor.

Individual tickets are $55, and seating is limited. Tables of 8 are available for $400. Learn more about the event, view the auction catalogue and obtain tickets online at siue.edu/lovejoylibrary. Parking is free in Lot A.

Revenue from the event will support Lovejoy Library’s collection development.

Security Enhanced at SDM's Science Building

Video surveillance equipment is scheduled to be installed at the School of Dental Medicine’s newly renovated classroom in building 279, the Science building, on the Alton campus.

The classroom includes a simulator table for the anatomy classes and is located next to the existing testing center, which is already monitored. The cameras are scheduled to be installed before the summer term and will enhance the overall security on campus.

In accordance with Section II (F) of the University’s Video Surveillance Policy, Vice Chancellor for Administration Rich Walker has approved the installation of the additional security equipment.
