Albert Luo Receives 2014 Distinguished Research Professor Award
The SIUE club cricket team won the Veritis Cup March 13-14 in Texas. The event is considered the national championship of club cricket. The title came with a $1,500 prize.
In the first round, defeated Texas A&M-Kingsville by 10 wickets, University of North Texas-Arlington by 25 runs and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor by 30 runs.
During the Super Six Stage, SIUE dispatched the University of North Texas by 7 wickets and the University of Illinois-Springfield by 40 runs.
In the semi-final, SIUE eliminated North Texas Denton by 5 wickets. In a rematch for the championship, SIUE topped UIS by 7 runs.
Electrical Engineering graduate student Vamsi Krishna Pavuluri was named Most Valuable Player.

The Veritis Cup is sponsored by Veritis Solutions, which is headquartered in Irving, Texas.
The Missouri Youth Cricket Association (MYCA) will host a 3-three day camp on the SIUE Cricket Ground during April. The sessions will run from 6-7 p.m. on consecutive Mondays beginning April 14. The camp is designed for children ages 7-12 and will include introduction to cricket and basic techniques. All equipment will be provided.
