Bill Brinson, a 1972 graduate of Edwardsville High School, earned a bachelor’s in mass communications at SIUE four years later. During his time at SIUE, Bill was a photographer for the Collinsville (IL) Herald newspaper and, after graduation, he joined the Lawrence (KS) Journal-World newspaper. A year later, Bill was named chief photographer. He then joined the staff of the St. Louis Globe-Democrat in 1978.  Four years later, he was named assistant director of photography and in 1983 became director. Bill joined SIUE in July 1986 and since then has shot thousands of photographs documenting the rich and colorful history of SIUE.
