The following free events related to the “Forever Free” exhibition are open to the public, as well as the University community, and will also be held at Lovejoy Library:
“Forever Free” is made possible by major grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission, created by Congress and charged with planning the national celebration of Lincoln’s 200th birthday. It is based on original documents about Abraham Lincoln, the Civil War, abolition, and the Emancipation Proclamation in the collections of the Huntington Library and the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, and organized in cooperation with the American Library Association (ALA) Public Programs Office.
