Sue Thomas has served as the Associate Provost of Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville since 2007. Before then she served as Associate Provost for Planning for two years. Dr. Thomas’ research interests have continued throughout her administrative tenure, and include studies in the long-term impact of robotics educational programs on girls’ perceptions of their abilities, interests and choices in STEM-related areas. Along with many publications on this topic, she has served as an investigator on an NSF HRD award called The Effects of Robotics Team Projects on Girls’ Attitudes Toward Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
