Joseph Stimpfl is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Religious Studies Department at Webster University. He holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in anthropology from the University of Pittsburgh. He also holds a MEd in education and an AB in English from the University of Missouri. His research has dealt with Malay Muslims in Singapore, religious schools in Thailand, Malay village life, Malay dress in Singapore and Indonesian primary school teachers. He has also done research on Asian immigrants in the United States.
