In addition to providing opportunities for multi-disciplinary, inter-institutional, cross-sector partnerships, collaborative research projects can have a direct impact on the region's community and economy. Such visionary collaboration also necessitates a demand for strategic practices to manage both project objectives and productive working relationships over time. This session will highlight some of these projects--including projects managed by the Missouri Institute of Mental Health at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and the Regional Planning for Sustainable Communities grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Presenters will offer tips and tricks for managing partnerships effectively, from teaming to develop a successful large-scale proposal, to working with smaller community organizations, to reporting results back to the community, and more.
