Aileen Schulte is a Scientific Review Officer at the National Institute of Mental Health, where she organizes scientific review panels in the areas of mental health services and research training. Her principal responsibility is the organization of the NIMH standing committee, Mental Health Services in Non-Specialty Settings (SRNS), which reviews services research in varied setting such as, primary or specialist medical care, schools, child welfare agencies, criminal justice settings, shelters, and other social service agencies where the primary focus of care is not mental health. Dr. Schulte received her PhD in Sociology from Indiana University where she was an NIMH predoctoral fellow. She has also held faculty positions at Albion College and SUNY - New Paltz. Her areas of research include social psychology, social support, and stigma. She has also conducted community-based research in a criminal justice setting.
