Sonya Bahar received her BS in Physics from Drexel University in 1991, and her PhD in Biophysics from the University of Rochester in 1997.
After postdoctoral work at Duke, UMSL and Cornell, she took a faculty position in Physics and Astronomy at the University of Missouri at St.
Louis in 2004. She is currently Associate Professor of Biophysics and Director of the Center for Neurodynamics. Her research involves complex collective behavior in biological systems, ranging from imaging the brain during seizures to computational modeling of evolutionary dynamics.
