Cherokee Nation 2007 Photos

Photos of Bull Hollow, White Oak, &  Oak Hill Piney, Oklahoma

The students completed a lot of work stripping and waxing the floor at all the Loyal Shawnee Tribal Headquarters.  The students also cleaned up the Loyal Shawnee Ceremonial grounds, and retiled a bathroom. The location of this work was around White Oak, Oklahoma.   The students accomplished this all in three days.

In the evening, we had the opportunity to share dinner and educational programs with various communities.  On Monday, night the Loyal Shawnee provided dinner and an over view of the Loyal Shawnee Tribe along with beliefs and customs.  On Tuesday night, we drove all the way down to Bell, Oklahoma, to dinner and a presentation of American Indian Pow Wow.  On Wednesday night, we had dinner with Old Cloud Creek community eating our favorite, Indian Tacos.   On Thursday, the group toured Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and the Cherokee Interpretive Center, Tahlequah, Oklahoma.  ( Many of the location listed here are not on the map.  To get to these location you turn at big green trash cans, goats, and through a creek.)
