Volunteer Service
Institutional Header
An Alternative Spring Break trip is available to students who wish to participate in an extended community service opportunity during spring break.  These overnight trips provide students with a truly unique and fulfilling volunteer experience bringing together service and learning.

The following trip is planned for the 2011 - 2012 academic year:

March 4 - 9: Rebuilding New Orleans, One House at a Time

The purpose of this trip is to promote lifelong community involvement and critical thinking about societal issues.  This includes strong direct volunteer service, orientation, education, training, reflection, reorientation, diversity, alcohol- and other drug-free activities.  The project outcomes of these activities are to assist New Orleans homeowners in returning to their homes, restore community pride, and increase community involvement through community service.  The final outcome, and our ultimate aim, is the restoration of not just a few homes, but whole blocks, neighborhoods, and communities
