Time: 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The mission of this social agency is to provide shelter, support services, and transitional case management for citizens in the Illinois Metro East.  The staff strives to identify the needs, as well as the holistic care and concerns of women, men, and children who are caught in the temporary web of poverty and homelessness.  Volunteers will assist with a variety of activities including interior cleaning, repairing and painting; exterior yard work and repairing outdoor facilities; and organizing program materials.  Volunteers may be helping with the yard sale and hot dog BBQ. 

These projects allow you to explore and become involved in the community, meet new people, and gain community service hours toward completion of the Student Leadership Development Program.

Depart:  8:00 a.m. Parking Lot B, SIUE
Return: 
  12:30 p.m. Parking Lot B, SIUE

Participants need work clothes and sturdy shoes
Transportation will be provided
Free - However, Advance Registration Required - Sign up in the Kimmel Leadership Center in the volunteer binder for Holy Angels Shelter volunteer project.

Holy Angels Shelter volunteer project is part of SIUE Homeless Program.  The students have meeting every other Tuesday at 4:15 p.m. in SSC 1201.  The meetings are open to all.  The group plans programs with the homeless and continuously collect for the street and sheltered homeless.
