What is Angel Food?  Angel Food provides quality, nutritious food at a reduced cost through a self-help distribution system.  The USDA has provided $6.97 million to increase the scope of the Angel Food coop program.  Angel Food works through churches, community organizations, and social agencies to distribute the food.

The program is designed to assist families and individuals attempting to balance the increasing cost of necessities with stagnant salaries.  Each month about 500,000 families in 32 states participate in the program. 

Where is Angel FoodSIUE Volunteer Services is working with two Illinois locations to assist in developing the Angel Food (food coop) program.  The two locations and addresses are listed below.  To volunteer, please sign up for one of the locations.  Angel Food is one Saturday a month.

SIUE mini-van
An SIUE mini-van leaves at 7:30 a.m. and arrives back to SIUE Campus around 12 p.m.

¨ Wear work clothes and sturdy shoes
¨ Meet in Lot B (Visitors Parking Lot B) to drive to the volunteer location
¨ Bring a Friend!
