Petitioning status is granted to groups just beginning to organize on campus and to recruit new members. Petitioning status is in effect for a maximum of two (2) months. The Assistant Director of Student Organizations may grant an extension. Petitioning organizations are extended limited organization privileges. The following privileges are strictly for the purpose of getting the group organized, recruiting members, developing a constitution, and holding elections:

1. Use of University facilities for organizational meeting.
2. The right to recruit members on campus under the organization’s name.
3. The right to promote the organization on campus in accordance with established policies and procedures.
4. Use of a campus mailbox located in the Kimmel Leadership Center.
