Funding Information

Student Government is responsible for funding program and travel requests for Student Organizations.  Guidelines for receiving this funding can be found in the Student Government Funding Manual.

Annual Allocation Information

Student Government also provides Annual Allocation Funding which allows student organizations to purchase office supplies, postage for mailings, and journals.  Applications for Annual Allocations are available near the beginning of the spring semester.  Check back for more information.  New organizations may request a single semester allocation 30 days after being recognized by the Student Senate.  Click the link below to download the Annual Allocation Expenditure Request Form.

Travel Request Information

Student Organizations may request up to $425 to travel to a conference.  These requests must be submitted no later than 45 days prior to the conference.

Once you return from a conference funded through Student Government, you must complete a Travel Evaluation Form.

Travel Evaluation Form

A travel evaluation MUST be completed and submitted to the Student Government secretary or account technician within 14 days of your return date. Evaluation forms may be picked up in the Self-Help area of the Student Government office. WARNING: Failure to comply will result in loss of next year's funding for travel. There are no exceptions. Any organization should be prepared to give an oral report upon request.


Program Request Information

Student organizations may request up to $7,000 for programs.  Information about program requests may be obtained by scheduling an appointment with Michelle King.  Appointments may be scheduled by visiting the front desk at the Kimmel Leadership Center, located on the first floor of the Morris University Center, or by calling (618) 650-2686.


Student Government Monetary Awards

Each year Student Government presents a maximum of four awards to student organizations who present a program that improves campus life.  Descriptions of the awards can be found below.  Applications and further eligibility criteria for these awards are available in the Self Help Center of the Kimmel Leadership Center and award winners will be announced at the Outstanding Achievement Recognition Program held in April 2006.   

General Criteria
This document contains general criteria for all of the monetary awards.

Most Diverse Program of the Year
This award recognizes a student organization program that has a diverse appeal.  The award will be judged upon the scholastic value of the program, attendance, and other characteristics as deemed fit by the awards committee.

Traditional Program of the Year
This award recognizes a student organization program that has been sponsored for three years or more, and will be based upon diversity, attendance, educational value, among other characteristics, as deemed fit by the awards committee.

New Program of the Year
This award recognizes a student organization program that has been sponsored for less than three years, and will be based upon diversity, attendance, educational value, among other characteristics, as deemed fit by the awards committee.

Educational Program of the Year
This award recognizes a student organization program that has scholastic appeal.  The award will be judged upon the scholastic value of the program, attendance, and other characteristics as deemed fit by the awards committee.
