What is Metro East Humane Society?

The Metro East Humane Society is a nonprofit organization that provides a number of services to the 5-county area of Madison, St. Clair, Jersey, Bond, and Macoupin, supported by your generous donations. Services they provide include prevention of cruelty to animals, relief of suffering among animals, provision of appropriate care and medical attention to animals, humane awareness and education programs, and the encouragement of animal population control.  They seek to return lost animals to owners and seek suitable homes for animals without owners.

What will the volunteers do?

Volunteers will assist with picking up garbage and any droppings along the trails and cleaning up play yards.  Inside, they will assist with cat tree maintenance, cleaning windows, and socializing kittens. They have several feral kittens that need & deserve a little extra attention.

  • Participants need to wear suitable clothing and sturdy shoes.
  • Transportation will be provided.
  • Free, however, advance registration is required.
