Office 2010 Open Lab

This is an open lab format to answer your questions concerning Office 2010. If you have a file (Word or Excel) you would like help on, please bring it with you. We ask that you please sign up so that we can plan accordingly. 

Excel 2010 Basics Training Session

This session is for those that are new to or little experience with using Excel. Items covered during training include: opening Excel, opening a new file and existing file, applying format to text, basic formulas (such as SUM), difference between Save and Save As. Will also learn how to use Office.com to answer questions and learn new skills for Excel.

Word 2010 Basics Training Session

This session is for those that are new to or little experience with using Word. Items covered during training include: opening Word, opening a new file and existing file, applying format to text, difference between Save and Save As. Will also learn how to use Office.com to answer questions and learn new skills for Word.

Please check back here as additional dates, times and training sessions will be added. Please note that food and drinks are not allowed in the training rooms.

New Features

In addition to  the interactive guides (listed below in Resources), we also have a list of new features and how to use them in the Guide to Office 2010 New Features (.pdf).

Compatibility

In the resources listed below, we have also provided an Office 2010 compatibility pack for those users still working with Office 2003. This will allow everyone to share the new file format, regardless of which version of Office was used in the file's creation.

As the University transitions to Office 2010 applications, we would like to make this process as smooth as possible. To help with this, we have provided interactive transition guides to each application.
