These resources are designed to assist School of Nursing undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students in constructing and managing the portfolio required as a component of their programs.
All Blackboard components associated with portfolio creation, maintenance, and management are located in the My Content area of the Blackboard environment.
The instructions below are intended for those users who have not yet created a portfolio.
Sample portfolio have been created to serve as an example of the desired arrangement of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral Nursing student portfolios. Each sample portfolio contains: (1) an initial portfolio home pages displaying the portfolio title and a welcome/biographical message and (2) a link in the left navigation section corresponding to a folder in the portfolio owner's My Content area in Blackboard where all the portfolio content is stored. These sample portfolios are intended only to illustrate the architecture of the individual portfolios and therefore do not contain sample documents for the different folders or sub-folders. For information on specific portfolio documents, students are encouraged to contact their mentors within the School of Nursing.
Students who created a portfolio in the previous version of Blackboard (Bb 8) will need to migrate their portfolio content to the new Bb system (Bb 9.1).
ITS often receives support requests from students who have only partially completed their portfolios. In most cases, these students need to complete just a few of the steps listed in the portfolio creation instructions linked above in order to finish the portfolio creation process. View the Partial Portfolio Instructions page to view commonly reported scenarios and the related solutions.
The School of Nursing Portfolio FAQ page answers the questions most frequently asked by Nursing students and faculty.
