Blackboard 9.1 Upgrade:  Mashups

General Information

A mashup is a web page that combines information from an external data source inside another web source.  In Blackboard 9.1, the mashup tool will allow instructors and/or students to search for,  locate, and embed data from selected external sources into Blackboard  without ever having to leave the Blackboard interface.  Instructors may add mashups to any content area.  Students may add mashups anywhere the text editor is available to them (e.g. blog, wiki, journal, discussion board).

Blackboard's Mashup tool

Blackboard 9.1 is making it easier to add the following multimedia content to courses through the mashup tool.

  • YouTube - share videos
  • Flickr - share photos
  • SlideShare - share presentations
