Blackboard 9.1 Upgrade: Journals, Blogs and Wikis

General Information

Journals, Blogs, and Wikis are new online writing spaces for students located directly within Blackboard 9.1.  These features are not only available at the broader course level, but also at the Group level as well,  providing a more robust set of tools for communicating and collaborating within  Groups.  All three provide opportunities for grading.  If set up for grading,, a single grade is automatically entered in the Grade Center when the instructor submits a grade.

Journals (one to one)

A journal is generally a private online writing space for students.  Entries are created by students and, by default, are only visible by the student and his or her instructor.  Instructors may comment upon journal postings.
