If you cannot file your tax return before the deadline, you will need to complete Form 4868, "Extension of Time to File" and mail it before April 15th, 2008. This will extend the deadline for filing your return to August 15th, 2008.
HOWEVER, if you owe any taxes, you must still mail your estimated tax payment by April 15th or you will be assessed penalty and interest as of April 16th, on any payment owed.
