Welcome to the Summer Bridge Program Website

The Summer Bridge Program is an on-campus experience that allows freshmen students to experience the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville environment prior to the fall term.  Through structured and integrated activities, students will be prepared to meet the demands of college and bridge the gap between high school and college.

In addition to review sessions in reading, writing, and math, students will participate in other activities designed to build academic skills and lead to a sense of community.

Statistics have consistently shown that students who attend summer enrichment programs complete more units, achieve higher grade point averages, have lower drop-out rates, and higher graduation rates than similar students who do not attend such programs.  After completing these programs, students are more confident and self-assured.
