About SIUE

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) is located in southwestern Illinois in the town of Edwardsville, which has a population of 21,500. Only 25 minutes from downtown St. Louis -with its nationally known Fortune 500 companies, professional sports, cultural offerings and transportation that puts you within minutes of anywhere in the Metro Area- SIUE is situated on 2,660 acres of beautiful woodlands atop the bluffs overlooking the natural beauty of the Mississippi River's rich bottom land.

Climate

SIUE students experience four distinct seasons, with winter temperatures averaging 32°F (0°C) and summer temperatures averaging 80°F (27°C).
