How does SIUE support your professional growth or activity as a Teacher-Scholar?
"SIUE and the School of Pharmacy have consistently recognized the role of the teacher-scholar in all aspects of my position.   Faculty development seminars are plentiful and extremely useful.  Most of all, the spirit of collegiality that generally exists here provides a great boost to my enthusiasm for teaching."

What is a unique aspect of your professional life that enhances your service to the academic or greater community?
"I strive to increase the links between SIUE, the School of Pharmacy and the community, with special attention paid to underserved populations in the area.  My current clinical practice with the Southwestern Illinois Visiting Nurses Association allows me to take senior pharmacy students into the homes of those most in need, exposing them to the realities of healthcare among those on a severely restricted income."

How has one mentor or event shaped your career decision to become a university professor?
"A particular professor, Dr. Terri Seaton, recognized in me the ability to effectively communicate my passion for improving the health of those less fortunate than me to future pharmacists.  He opened doors for me into residency training and academia that I had never considered a possibility."
