With advancements in technology, more faculty may be considering shifting to on-line teaching.
Clear and concise guidelines of the expectations and student participation are essential for the development and management of online courses. In addition, the inclusion of on-line discussions as an integral part of the course allows for more active engagement by the student.
This workshop will focus on strategies for facilitating on-line discussion that create an active learning environment.
Topics will include the role of the instructor, course design, teaching strategies, and the use of a discussion board grading rubric.
