Dr. Mary Chavez Rudolph

Dr. Chavez has spent the majority of her professional career in higher education - 15 years with the University of Colorado. The past six years Dr. Chavez has specialized in organizational conflict and collaboration working as an internal consultant to assist and coach constituents. Dr. Chavez facilitates strategic planning meetings and other meetings for groups experiencing change and conflict. She has a doctorate in Education with a focus on organizational leadership and innovation. She has taught courses and workshops on leadership, conflict management, and collaboration.

Considerable attention has been paid in recent years to bullying in the workplace. Academia is not exempt from this problem and in fact has characteristics that make it even more susceptible. Many college and university personnel such as human resource specialists, supervisors, ombudsmen, and other administrators (deans, directors and department chairs) find responding to alleged or actual bullying behavior an extremely difficult challenge - especially when it involves colleagues who bully. This workshop will help participants recognize bullying, identify options to respond to it, and develop strategies for promoting a non-bullying climate.
