Bio:  Melodie Rowbotham began her teaching career in an associate degree program where she taught for two years.  After completing her MSN with an emphasis in nursing education she began teaching in BSN programs where she has taught for the last 14 years.  She had been teaching at the university level for 4 years when she desired to improve her teaching which led her to obtaining a PhD in Adult Education.  This has helped her in developing as a teacher and a focus for her research program that addresses how teachers teach and students learn.  She has had two articles published regarding teaching perspectives, classroom environment, and teacher and student self-efficacy.  Her role as the coordinator of faculty development for the school of nursing and as a peer mentor for the university has also aided in her understanding of teaching and learning.
